Panalpina impresses Sigma-Aldrich with competence for dangerous goods
 

The chemicals group Sigma-Aldrich has given the “Continued Global Excellence in Dangerous Goods Transport“ award to the Panalpina Group. During a visit CEO Monika Ribar took over the prize from Peter Schüle, Managing Director at Sigma-Aldrich Germany and global responsible for logistics. “This is a milestone in our long-term relation with Sigma-Aldrich. We are proud to be given this prize and take it as an occasion to grow even stronger with Sigma-Aldrich“, she gave a statement.

Within the cooperation that was launched 10 years ago Panalpina established as a preferred partner of Sigma-Aldrich for air freight, complete solutions including customised solutions towards India and China, as well as for consignments from the U.S. to Europe. “The award reflects years of successful cooperation with Panalpina, which has evolved from a simple forwarding into a diverse, integrated supply chain partnership. The clear focus on shorter transit times is an important contribution to the service improvement of the past years”, says Peter Schüle.

Sigma-Aldrich, based in St. Louis in the US-state Missouri, has 7,800 employees in 38 countries which makes it a leading biotechnological and high-tech enterprise. Their chemical and biochemical products and construction kits are used in the scientific research including genomic and proteomic research, biotechnology, pharmaceutical development and as an important component in the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, diagnostics and other fields of high-technology.
