Business Unit West of ICF goes to IMS Wien

Container operator IMS Wien takes over shuttle services between Switzerland/Western Austria and Northsea and Western ports from ICF

The neutral container operator IMS – Intermove Systems Speditions- und Transport GmbH in Vienna is further expanding. On 31 January the enterprise will take over the activities of Business Unit West of ICF Intercontainer-Interfrigo SA (in liquidation) in Basel. Representatives of both sides have reached an agreement about this on 10 January. ICF will keep operating the Business Unit West until 30 January, which will guarantee a smooth and gapless transfer.

The activities of Business Unit West of ICF that are about to be introduced into IMS Wien’s portfolio cover the international shuttle services for containers between Switzerland and Austria, respectively, and the Northern and Western ports. In more detail these are the following rotations: Hamburg-Frenkendorf/Rekingen, Bremerhaven-Frenkendorf/Rekingen, Hamburg-Wolfurt, Bremerhaven-Wolfurt and from Rotterdam to Switzerland and to Wolfurt. They represent a total volume of around 45,000 TEU per year.

„IMS is our longstanding customer and experienced partner, who can guarantee for a high quality continuation of the westbound traffic“, ICF liquidator Joan Dubaere comments the result. IMS head Wolfgang Tomassovich sees this solution as an ideal continuation of the connection between Wolfurt and the German seaports, which is particularly important for the Austrian market.

IMS – Intermove Systems offers as a neutral operator demand-oriented services and all-in-one concepts around combined container traffic on the European continent. The enterprise has around 50 employees in its locations in Austria, Germany, Slovakia and Poland. By handling 120,000 TEU they generated a turnover of around EUR 50 million in 2010.
