PepsiCo awards major order to Kuehne + Nagel
PepsiCo-Outsourcing puts Kuehne + Nagel in charge of warehousing and distribution logistics in the Netherlands
Kuehne + Nagel landed a new major logistics order. On basis of a ten-year contract the worldwide active transport and logistics service provider assumes responsibility of warehousing and distribution logistics of the producer of convenience foods and beverages PepsiCo in the Netherlands. The scope of services comprises transport of salty snacks, cereals/muesli products and nuts from manufacturing sites in the BeNeLux region to the distribution centre in Utrecht and further to food retailers. PepsiCo wants to achieve three main goals by this outsourcing project: To improve customer service by responding quicker to changing market demands and increasing flexibility. Joining consignment flows shall reduce the environmental impact of the company’s transportation activities. Factor number three at which the Dutch affiliate strives is to cut logistics costs.
