Buss Safelox about to be integrated into Lehnkering Group

Company acquisition consolidates position of Lehnkering at Port of Hamburg

With effect from 1 October 2009 Lehnkering Group is to take over the enterprise Buss Safelox GmbH. The subsidiary of the Buss Group, with its regional focus on the Port of Hamburg, is about to become integrated into the Lehnkering GmbH. “With this acquisition we continue our growth strategy to expand our market position in warehousing logistics for the chemical industry in Germany and Central Europe“, explains Uwe Willhaus, Managing Director at the Lehnkering Group in charge of the Distribution Logistics & Services division (DLS).

The portfolio of the Buss Safelox comprises warehousing and logistics services also for the chemical, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry. The enterprise is referred to as a market leader in northern Germany. The total warehousing area covers 30,000 sq.m. at three locations and 70 skilled employees are working in the Lehnkering Group’s business unit Distribution Logistics & Services.

The Hamburg-based Buss Group now disposes of Safelox, to be able to concentrate even more to its core competences in the future. The focus of the enterprise lies in the pillars port, real estates and capital. “We evolved our activities from port services. Thus our three business units Buss Ports, Ixocon and Buss Capital can profit from high synergies“, explains Dr. Johann Killinger, managing Associate of the Buss Group.
