C Series of Swiss approaching Vienna and Graz

About six months after the first Bombardier CS100-flight, Swiss International Air Lines (Swiss) can draw a positive balance. Already in the first months of operation, the C Series proved a high technical reliability and offers great comfort. Swiss is the world’s first operator of the Canadian aircraft type and will deploy it on its flights to Vienna and Graz from March 2017.

Swiss plans to introduce all 30 ordered C Series into its fleet by the end of 2018. Currently there are some delays in delivery due to production shortages at the engine manufacturer. Nevertheless, the introduction of the CS100 is proceeding better than other newly developed aircraft types or classes, remarks Peter Koch, Fleet Manager. Swiss was continuously calling new destinations with their new aircraft.

Launching another flight on workdays between Vienna and Zurich, the CS100 will also be deployed on this route from 1 March. Thus Swiss increases the frequency of flights between the Austrian capital and its home base from Monday to Friday, to a total of five daily flights. As from 27 March, the new short- and medium-haul aircraft will be used several times a week on the route between Graz and Zurich.
