cargo-partner masters another major project

Project team of cargo-partner forwarding company organised transport of a big tunnel drilling machine

A big tunnel drilling machine was recently transported from Schwanau in Germany to a major construction site in Mexico City under the control of the project specialists at the cargo-partner location in Hamburg. The device has a weight of 3,289 freight tons. It was disassembled into several pieces, namely 27 unpacked components and 13 open top containers, for the transport.

The physical handling of the transport was preceded by a detailed planning of the process and the selection of suitable partners. Low loaders brought the up to 5.3 metres wide parts, components and containers from the plant in Schwanau to the Rhine harbour in Kehl. There all freight pieces were loaded as full charter to a Rhine vessel, and then shipped to Antwerp. For ist trans-Atlantic journey to the port of destination – Veracruz – the tunnel drilling machine was loaded to a conventional seagoing vessel. As for customs clearance in Mexico and on-carriage from the port to the construction site, cargo-partner was supported by their Brazilian agent.
