cargo-partner opens new locations in Los Angeles and Houston

The international transport and logistics company has been active in New York since 2001 and since 2011 also in Chicago, now extending its network in the U.S.

“Many customers from our core region in Central and Eastern Europe have their corporate headquarters in the USA, where they also make final decisions. This step brings us even closer to our customers and may also give us new inspirations for our home market,” Stefan Krauter, CEO of the cargo-partner group explains this step.

The family business with Austrian roots offers a variety of services in the USA, from transport solutions in the domain of air and sea freight up to optimization of customers’ supply chains. “With this targeted expansion, we are now present at the most important gateways and have laid the basis for further successful steps in the future,“ states Johannes Mikula, cargo-partner Regional Director of the USA.

With 2 million tonnes of airfreight per year, the Los Angeles airport figures among the most important cargo airports in the world. The most significant trading partner is the Asia-Pacific region with almost 600,000 tonnes annually, followed by Europe with over 150,000 tonnes. The Port of Los Angeles, together with Long Beach, covers 40% of all container traffic in the US. The new office bridges the gap to customers in Asia and Europe, the company management states.

The Port of Houston is the leading US export harbor, but also an international front runner in the oil and gas industry. cargo-partner has been offering logistics expertise in this industry sector for many years, the new branch was a logical consequence, says Johannes Mikula, cargo-partner Regional Director of the USA.
