CEE Logistics award goes to Gebrüder Weiss and SMR AMT Hungary

TRANSLOG Connect Congress in Budapest: Gebrüder Weiss and SMR AMT Hungary receive Central Eastern Europe Logistics and Supply Chain Excellence Award 2013

The Events Group together with the European Logistics Association announced the first CEE Logistics and Supply Chain Excellence Award this year to recognise and promote outstanding logistics and supply chain management methods and to encourage professionals to constantly raise standards and come up with innovative and flexible solutions, contributing to the development of the rapidly growing CEE region. The award was handed out last night at the Award ceremony at TRANSLOG Connect Congress in Budapest.

Gebrüder Weiss, winner in the service provider sector, developed Tower Control a logistics system that provides better information and the award for the industry and retail price went to SMR AMT Hungary, who developed a direct distribution system operating in Hungary.

Applications were evaluated by an independent jury, by their level of innovation, transferability, sustainability, cost-effectiveness and customer value-contribution and the project or concept had to be accomplished in any of the countries in the Central Eastern European region. Jury members Prof. Dr. Sebastian Kummer, Head of the Institute of Transport and Logistics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, Jos Marinus, President of the European Logistics Association (ELA), Stefan Putzlocher, Director Logistics at Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Hungary, Miguel Suarez, Director Supply Chain Management at Lafarge, Rogier van Zon, Head of Global Distribution & Export Control at TP Vision have announced the winners in the industry and retail and the service provider sector.
