Continuous growth with the Rieck Logistik group

Rieck Logistik generated a considerable increase in 2011 turnover through air/ocean freight forwarding and contract logistics activities

The business model of the Rieck Logistik group (Berlin) – characterised by continuous investments and a stable economic situation in Germany – ensured a continued sane growth throughout the year 2011. At almost EUR 150 million in turnover, last year’s figure (EUR 130 million) was considerably surpassed. At 24 per cent, air and ocean freight forwarding was the growth driver. Contract logistics developed also positively. In the business segments forwarding and waste management logistics orders remained stable.

The Rieck Sea Air Cargo unit (RSAC) registered a substantially bigger demand of its customers. Also business with new customers showed increases. Exportation in the segments of mechanical engineering and investment goods showed a particularly positive development. RSAC registered the most important growth towards China, North America and the Arabian Peninsula. Exportations, thanks to investments into the infrastructure, increased particularly.

Rieck Projekt Kontrakt Logistik (RPKL) was able to enhance its services for existing customers at all of its locations. A manufacturer from the automotive industry expanded the cooperation with the company – so far focussing on production supply – to spare parts supply. In Hamburg RPKL generated growth in turnover through logistics for household and consumer electronics.

The Rieck headquarters is confidently looking to the future. “The economic situation is still good“, says Philipp Strenge, Managing Director. “We gained additional orders in project business, which is developing well."
