Slovenian seaport of Koper posts continued growth

Luka Koper increased cargo throughput and key figures of turnover and operating result in the first half of 2011:

Growth in cargo throughput in the Slovenian seaport of Koper has continued throughout the first six months of 2011. In the period January to June 8.36 million tons of goods passed the quay walls. Thus the reference figure of last year was exceeded by eight per cent, reads a short press release of Luka Koper d.d., the company operating the port in the northern Adriatic Sea. The enterprise registered the strongest increase in the divisions vehicle throughput, container transport and liquid goods.

As for sales revenues Luka Koper d. d. generated an increase of 15 per cent to EUR 71.7 million in the reporting period, as compared to last year. Operating result soared up 74 per cent to EUR 13.2 million.
