CTL Logistics: intermodal connections gain in importance

CTL Logistics provides intermodal transport connections from Hamburg and Bremerhaven ports to Poland. The number of transports is expected to increase fourfold in the coming months.

Currently CTL Logistics operates transports from Hamburg and Bremerhaven ports to Kąty Wrocławskie twice per week. However, direct transports to Warsaw and Sosnowiec are to be on offer soon, connecting all Hamburg port terminals – CTA, CTB, CTT and Eurogate.

CTL Logistics is the sole Polish intermodal operator which has no need to perform transhipments at the intermediate rail terminals. Consequently, the company’s transport services are much safer and faster. It takes one working day to deliver ac container to the terminal in Kąty and three working days to the one in Sosnowiec after its reception in Hamburg or Bremerhaven. Moreover, GPS system installed in trains provides direct access to information ont he transport’s actual position, both within the Polish and German territories.

“Surveillance over the transport throughout its entire length constitutes our undeniable advantage. Even more  importantly, the rapidity of service is competitive and guaranteed by the direct connections we provide and excellent cooperation with our partners in the ports in question”, says Artur Pielech, Vice-President of the Board, Trade & Marketing Director. “Given a significant demand for these services, we had already contracted most of our transports. However, we always keep some transport capacity to clients interested in an ad hoc cooperation” – adds Artur Pielech.
