Daily Austria-Lebanon operation by Groupage Service Syrien

Groupage Service Syrien GmbH launches new 12 days-groupage cargo service from Austria to Beirut

A new overland transport service to Lebanon brings daily consolidated general cargo from Austria to Beirut. This regular service is operated by the specialist for short and long distance transport to the Middle East, Groupage Service Syrien GmbH. The trucks are consolidated at the terminal Maisach near Munich. Transport time including pre-carriage of the consignments from Austria, to their entry at the bonded warehouse in Beirut is twelve days.

The plan for the new overland route provides for the direct transport of groupage cargo to Beirut, without taking the transit detour via the Groupage branch in Aleppo from the end of April 2011. Transport time of the groupage cargo consignments will then be reduced to ten days.

The main users of the rapid overland traffic via Turkey to the Near and Middle East are car suppliers, car dealers and garages in Syria: wear and tuning parts took five or more weeks longer on the sea way as Full Container Load (FCL) or Less Container Load (LCL). Today accessories for BMW, Mini or Skoda ordered in Europe can be fitted after just one week for cash.

The (original) „Groupage“-Service Speditions GmbH was founded by Dipl.-Betriebsökonom Thomas Paar in 1990 as a medium-sized enterprise. His target was to act as a nieche specialist and provide high quality logistics services from the European Union to the Near and Middle East. In 2008 they rearranged their business segments strategically, they focussed on the destinations Syri and Georgia (visit also: www.georgien-transport.com).
