Jan de Rijk Logistics now driving for Oman Air Cargo

Oman Air Cargo selects Jan de Rijk Logistics as its partner to handle road feeder services in Europe:

Oman Air Cargo is launching a service concept for Road Feeder Services in Europe for the first time. The Arabian airline is to cooperate with Jan de Rijk Logistics in this segment from now on. The Dutch logistics enterprise will transport air freight to the airports London Heathrow, Paris Charles De Gaulle, Milan Malpensa, Munich and Frankfurt. From these stations Oman Air operates nonstop flights to Muscat, the capital of the Sultanate Oman. Jan de Rijk Logistics will also provide offline handling services across Europe for Oman Air.

“We are delighted to be working with the highly experienced specialists of Jan de Rijk Logistics to provide cargo trucking services in Europe”, says Oman Air’s Chief Commercial Officer, Abdulrazaq Al Raisi. “Pan-European trucking will complement our recently launched Pan-GCC trucking services and we are confident that it will prove to be a vital element in the expansion of the Oman Air Group”, he added.

Oman Air is the designated carrier of the Sultanate of Oman. Established in 1993, the airline counts among the world’s fastest-growing airlines. The target of the expansion is to establish the Muscat airport as an important international hub. Oman Air currently operates a fleet consisting of 15 Boeing 737-700/800 jets, four Airbus A330-200, three Airbus A330-300 and two Embraer E 175. IIn addition two Turboprop aircraft of the ATR 42-500 type are deployed on national flights. In 2014 the compyn plans to take over six Boeing 787 „Dreamliner“ wide-body jets.
