Danish forwarder FairTrans sets new focus

FairTrans A/S completely overworked its business model

Being established in new furniture logistics so far, the Danish FairTrans A/S put its business basis now on international part and general cargo system transports and created a new corporate identity at the same time. According to Managing Director Hans F. David this consistent new orientation towards general cargo has become necessary because Danish furniture manufacturers outsourced their production more and more to other countries due to globalisation. For the enterprise, which is now specialising on transport, warehousing and distribution of industrial goods, the fields contract logistics, warehousing and distribution gained more importance in the first six months of 2009.

The key markets of the Danish private company are Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the Benelux countries as well as Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. As for importations the FairTrans terminal in Kliplev, close to the German/Danish border, which was expanded to 12,500 m² in the year 2004, serves as a Scandinavia hub for comprehensive truck groupage cargo transportations that are operated in cooperation with various continental agencies.

FairTrans Holding A/S comprises the FairTrans A/S (founded in 1975), and since 2006 the acquired companies Comet Transport ApS (Rödekro) and Comet Transport GmbH (Flensburg) including around 50 vehicles. The group has currently nearly 90 employees. FairTrans Holding A/S is held by the associates Per Damgaard, Hans F. David, Tove Fromberg, Hans J. Hansen and Palle Pedersen.
