DB Schenker Austria densifies network

New DB Schenker location in Lienz offers East Tyrolean customers advantages regarding transportations in Europe

The Austrian network of DB Schenker was enlarged by a new location. In January the site in the industrial park Peggetz in Lienz has started operating. The facility covers around 3,500 sq.m. in total. About 800 sq.m. thereof are used as throughput and high rack warehouses. The team of three persons at the new location in Lienz (recruitment of more personnel is planned on the medium term) offers the complete range of DB Schenker products to the East Tyrolean industry. In addition to the focus on European land transport the program comprises air and sea freight services with scheduled transport time, as well as warehousing logistics solutions.

“The enterprises from the East Tyrolean region want their consignments to be handled by a partner who combines an ideal service, the best quality and disposes of a dense European and worldwide network. With our new location we are directly situated at our customers and give them more flexibility“, Herbert Pircher, branch manager of DB Schenker in Kufstein, also in charge of the new site in East Tyrol, explains the motives for the expansion.

The DB Schenker house in Lienz promotes considerably improved transport times for customers, compared to their competitors. Consignments can be fed into the land transport system of the forwarding company until 6 p.m.. The dispatch is then carried out on the same day. For some destinations the transport time was improved by 24 hours.

DB Schenker has been successfully active in the Land of Tyrol for many years: In total 260 persons are employed at the locations in Innsbruck, Kufstein and Lienz.
