DB Schenker expands on the Balkans

 
DB Schenker opens second location in Bosnia-Herzegovina

To expand the market position on the Balkans is one of the primary targets of DB Schenker. „We intend to densify the network and cover the currently white spots in the field of comprehensive national distribution. Moreover we are preparing to open locations in Montenegro and in Pristina in Kosovo, “ as Elmar Wieland, Executive Chairman of Schenker & Co AG Austria and south-eastern Europe, announced on the occasion of a press meeting in Vienna.

DB Schenker will shortly open a new location in Bosnia-Herzegovina at the border with Croatia. The station in Bosanski Brod will support the location in the capital Sarajevo by January 2009. DB Schenker has been operating an own location in Bosnia-Herzegovina since the year 2001. Country Manager Salko Kruho and his 40-members staff offer a vast range of transportation and logistics services, including groupage cargo transportations, rail transportations, air-/seafreight, warehouse logistics and distribution. These services are also used by the companies Schachermayer, OMV, Grundfos, Siemens and Würth. A 1,500 sq. m. logistics facility in Sarajevo is available for warehouse operations.
