DB Schenker launches new air cargo service to South America

DB Schenker and Emirates SkyCargo to offer regular air cargo service from Frankfurt to Viracopos in Brazil

With immediate effect DB Schenker customers can make use of additional freight capacity on the route from Europe to South America. In cooperation with Emirates SkyCargo the logistics service provider offers since recently two weekly cargo flights ex Frankfurt to Viracapos in Brazil. The flight is operated with a Boeing 747-400F, offering capacity for around 120 tons of air freight.

Currently there is a shortage in available air cargo capacity ex Europe to South America. “In this given situation it counts the more that we are able to make available additional cargo hold on this important route in the market”, emphasises Frank Markovits, DB Schenker product manager air cargo for Austria and Southeastern Europe. “Capacities on this operation are exclusively available to our customers. Thus we put together a very attractive package for South America shippers,” he adds.

Austria and Southeastern Europe are connected via DB Schenker’s Euro-Hub in Salzburg with daily links to the air cargo center in Frankfurt. The Emirates SkyCargo freighters will take off in Frankfurt on Thursdays and Saturdays to Viracapos on behalf of DB Schenker until further notice.
