DB Schenker Logistics offers new garments-on-hangers solution
The team from DB SCHENKERskybridge has developed a solution for the fashion industry – a specially designed box for the transport of clothing suspended from garment hangers. Clothing and textiles must be delivered to the point of sale ready-to-wear and in immaculate condition. The transport of exclusive textiles on hangers from manufacturer to boutique or department store also eliminates the need for additional preparation, with corresponding reductions in costs. Each garment is transported on a hanger and wrapped in special foil to protect it from creases, dirt and damp. The new boxes can be folded for return transport to Asia in ocean freight containers and reused several times. DB SCHENKERskybridge is a solution combining air and ocean freight. The solution cuts transport times by between 30% and 50% in comparison with straight ocean freight. Compared with shipping the goods the entire distance by airfreight, the solution reduces CO2 emissions by up to 50% and shaves between 30% and 50% off the cost. Quelle: eyefortransport |
