DB Schenker: Start of the construction of a new logistics facility in Belgrade

New logistics centre near Belgrade shows DB Schenker forwarding’s growth trend in Serbia

DB Schenker Logistics has just ground broken on a new logistics centre in Serbia’s capital Belgrade. From the beginning of 2015, the centre will offer customers the latest technology for specialised logistics solutions tailored to the needs of customers in sectors such as the electronics, automotive, and consumer goods industries, informs the enterprise in a press release.

The site is situated in Stara Pazova, a location that offers manyadvantages: It is only 25 kilometers northwest of Belgrade, 50 kilometers from Novi Sad, right next to the E-75 highway, and in direct proximity to the airport in the Serbian capital. DB Schenker will have2,600 m2 of warehouse space and 700 m2 of office space in the new „LOG CENTER Belgrade”.

The logistics centre is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year. The move-in should follow starting on January 1, 2015. The new logistics centre will further expand DB Schenker’s presence in Serbia. More than 20,000 shipments will be processed in the new centre yearly. The Belgrade site will thus be fully integrated into DB Schenker’s European network of over 700 locations.

DB Schenker currently operates two locations in Serbia, which have a total of 54 employees and offer comprehensive transport and logistics services. These include regular-line transports throughout Europe via trucks, air and ocean freight, and rail transport, all of which also include customs services.
