Elevators and moving stairs specialist KONE puts procurement and distribution logistics of its spare parts warehouse across Europe into DB Schenker’s hands:

Kone, a provider of full range solutions for elevators and moving stairs, counts on the pan-European land transport network of Schenker Deutschland AG. The enterprise based in Herten entrusts the logistics service provider with procurement and distribution logistics of its spare parts warehouse across Europe. The offer comprises process management, monitoring and reporting. This outsourcing solution makes service logistics processes of the elevators and moving stairs specialist more reliable and increases transparency.

At the central warehouse the logistician cares for a smooth handling of all consignments from more than 1,200 suppliers from all over Europe. Also just-in-time supply of European service partners and end customers with urgently needed parts lies in the hands of DB Schenker. To be able of ideally controlling all processes the logisticians in DB Schenker’s land transport offices in Dortmund and Hagen set up service desks. They take over planning, organisation and coordination of all processes of national (Dortmund) and international (Hagen) transports. About 150 tons of accessories arrive at the warehouse in Herten per month, while around 100 tons of goods are delivered from there to recipients all over Europe.
