Döllken enhances cooperation with Fiege Group

Fiege Group assumes with immediate effect the in-house logistics for Döllken Kunststoffverarbeitung in Gladbeck:

Effective 1 January 2012 the Fiege Group assumes the in-house logistics for Döllken Kunststoffverarbeitung in Gladbeck. By assuming the new range of services for the globally operating company the co-operation between Fiege and Döllken is extended many times over. Since 2009 Fiege has been in charge of the entire warehousing at the Gladbeck site for the Weimar-based sister company of Döllken. In addition to in-house logistics, Fiege handles all national traffic. The addition of further European relations via the Fiege network is in the pipeline. "As a result of the good experiences gained over the past years we have opted for Fiege once again as our strong and dependable partner", said Hartwig Schwab, managing director of Döllken Kunststoffverarbeitung, during the signing of the agreement.

Döllken-Kunststoffverarbeitung, a company of the international Surteco SE group, supplies furniture manufacturers world-wide with thermoplastic edges and is one of the industry’s market leaders. Döllken is represented via the group on four continents with its own production sites, employs over 1,340 people and generates annual sales of over Euro 240 million. At the Gladbeck site some 45 Fiege staff are employed, handling both fields on around 11,000 m² of logistics space. Numerous additional services, so-called value added services, such as for example cutting polymer strips, are part of their duties.

The Fiege Group, headquartered in Greven, Westphalia, is among Europe’s leading logistics providers. The company is considered a pioneer of contract logistics and generated a turnover of Euro 1.5 billion world-wide with a workforce of around 20,000 people in the year 2010. 210 branches and co-operations based in 18 countries form a dense supply-chain network with 3 million m² of warehouse and logistics space.
