DocStop for truck drivers grows beyond Germany’s borders
First initiative for medical care on the way fort ruck drivers expands to Poland and starts shortly in Austria:
DocStop, the initiative for medical care of professional drivers, gains cross-border support: Just before christmas the lawyer and initiator of the Polish DocStop association Dariusz Kardas and the DocStop mamagement board Rainer Bernickel and Martin Hottinger in Freiburg signed the contract according to European law for the formation of the first European DocStop initiative outside Germany.
Shortly there will be the first Polish DocStop branches, which will – under the same conditions as in Germany – supply a network of medical partners for professional drivers. “This is the start of a comprehensive cooperation with DocStop partners in Europe and will improve medical care on Transeuropean traffic routes fort his professional group“, explained Rainer Bernickel at the signing ceremony. In Denmark, Ausrtria and Switzerland DocStop has already found partners, who will start a DocStop initiative in their countries shortly.
The association "DocStop für Europäer e. V." was established in 2007, with the aim of providing professional and non-complicated medical care on the way to domestic and foreign truck drivers. First of all this concerns minor health problems, such as tooth ache, headache or suddenly ocurring back pain. Due to high pressure of time of truck drivers these problems are mainly treated not at all, or not right, which may cause severe health problems and endanger traffic security.
DocStop offers a unique service for free. Persons driving a truck on Transeuropean roads, suffering health problems, may contact DocStop around the clock, seven days a week. The ADAC Truck Service Hotline 01805 112 024 provides information about the nearest DocStop partner in the caller’s language. In addition to contact points at service and truck stops, helping with the search for a doctor, the system includes also many doctor’s offices and hospitals near motorways.
