DSV Air & Sea takes over additional tasks on behalf of General Motors

General Motors charges DSV Air & Sea with more tasks about international forwarding and supply parts

General Motors (GM) expands its cooperation with DSV Air & Sea. The logistics service provider supplies all production and spare parts locations of the worldwide automotive manufacturer with supply parts from Europe, Africa and the Near East (EMEA countries). The management of the order and supply management with around 1,200 first-tier suppliers from 26 countries lies in the hands of DSV Air & Sea GmbH in Bremen.

DSV Air & Sea has been acting on behalf of GM for several years in procurement logistics. So far the destinations were located in Australia, Europe (Germany, Austria, United Kingdom, Hungary), America (Canada, USA, Mexico) and Korea. Now Uzbekistan, Indonesia and the high volume GM production in Brazil were added. Moreover DSV supplies the South American plants in Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Columbia and Uruguay.

DSV takes over the shipments from suppliers all over Europe. LCL shipments are consolidated at the GVZ in Bremen and shipped via nearby seaports. Further points of consolidation and loading are in Barcelona and Port Elizabeth (South Africa). Particularly urgent transport orders are handled by air freight and parcel services and in some cases charter flights or onboard couriers. In the destination countries DSV Air & Sea has its own national companies. Also in Brazil they have recently established a branch.
