DSV Solutions wins Audi contract

DSV Solutions will take over the supply chain management for the Audi manufacturing plant at Neckarsulm in Germany

DSV expands its business relations with Audi in Germany. From March 2014, the global transport and logistic service provider will take over the supply chain management for the German car manufacturing plant at Neckarsulm, Germany.

From a 38,000 sq.m. facility, approx. 150 employees will become responsible for punctual deliveries to the Audi plant as from the spring of 2014. Staff working in three shifts will process 180 inbound FTL with approx. 5,700 pallets every day and ship parts on demand directly to the assembly lines of the Audi model series A4, A5, A6, A7, A8 and R8.

“After our excellent collaboration during the past couple of years, we are very happy that Audi shows us that confidence. The convincing factor was the quality and flexibility that we have exhibited so far”, says Harald Schefft, Managing Director of DSV Solutions GmbH.

40 employees are already working for Audi in a 17,700 sq.m. facility. Goods are consolidated according to place of delivery at the plant consolidation centre at Heilbronn, which also acts as a small external warehouse.

DSV from Denmark is a global supplier of transport and logistics solutions. The company has offices in more than 70 countries and an international network of partners and agents. Its 22,000 employees recorded revenue of EUR 6 billion for 2012.
