Ecu Line Germany starts cooperation with 24plus

24plus gains sea freight connection with Ecu Line

The general cargo alliance 24plus logistics network has a new associated partner for international sea freight business – Ecu-Line Germany. Thus 24plus is the first Germany-based general cargo alliance to agree upon a tight partnership with a pure sea freight carrier and that is able to offer international sea freight services for import and export within the whole system.

The partnership is connecting two networks. Ecu-Line employs 1,554 persons in more than 120 offices in 60 countries world-wide and is active in sea freight handling of general cargo (LCL-services). 24plus has a Europe-wide road transport network for general cargo. Hence the cooperation will be no “one-way street“ for sea freight consignments of the 24plus network. On the contrary, Ecu-Line will use the 24plus system for on-carriage. The agreement upon the cooperation was signed a few days before the “transport logistic 2009“-fair in Munich was opened. Operative collaboration will start with immediate effect.

Ecu-Line is a non-vessel operating common carrier (NVOCC) headquartered in Antwerp. The enterprise is cooperating with efficiently acting, renowned shipping lines and operates no own vessels. The main focus lies in general cargo business on the seaway based on exclusive cooperations with forwarding companies. The Ecu-Line location in Hamburg will serve as a station for 24plus consignments. This is also where the enterprise operates two container-packing stations. The 24plus network is in charge of dispatching the consignments.
