Eight wind power plants travelled with Felbermayr Transport

Specialist for heavy and special transport Felbermayr mastered another project for the wind power industry:

This autumn the Felbermayr group transported eight wind power plants from Denmark and Germany to Tattendorf, Lower Austria. After operation was started by the end of November the plants supply 10,000 households with ecologically produced power. Felbermayr moved eight complete systems. The segments of the towers had a maximum length of 30 metres and a diameter of about four metres, weighing 65 tons.

The sections of the tower were transported by the use of special wind tower adapters with lifting and lowering function. That saved time for loading and unloading and made the handling safer. The machines houses (Nazelle) were transported with inland vesseld to the Felbermayr heavy lift port in Linz and forwarded to Tattendorf on the road.
