Lower Austria’s transport industry wants to increase the number of apprentices and trainees as soon as possible:

In spite of the many tasks of local supply and public transport handled by the enterprises of Lower Austria’s transport industry, they are having trouble in finding trainees. Sonja Zwazl, President of the Economic Chamber of Lower Austria, and Franz Penner, President of the Transport and Communications Division in the Economic Chamber of Lower Austria, want to eliminate this problem by targeted measures.

On the occasion of the "Tag der NÖ-Verkehrswirtschaft” on 17 June at the port of Krems, the duo gave the starting signal to promote the training of young experts. The target is to double the number of apprentices from currently 280 to more than 500 youngs. “Young experts are as important for the economic location as university graduates“, Zwazl and Penner said to about 1,000 pupils.

Lower Austria’s transport industry counts currently about 6,000 enterprises from different divisions with 38,000 employees.
