ELVIS AG places major order for 850 trucks

Framework agreement with Scania, MAN and Iveco benefits members of ELVIS AG up to 10 per cent price advantage for vehicles with individual configuration

ELVIS AG is investing in the expansion of its truck fleet. In a pilot project the enterprise placed an order for its members for 850 vehicles of the following manufacturers: Scania, MAN and Iveco. This major order of ELVIS benefits its members a price advantage of up to ten per cent. A framework agreement with the according conditions will be valid until the end of 2015. The decision was preceded by an intense selection process.

Jochen Eschborn, CEO of ELVIS AG, sees great potential for cost savings in this order, „With this pilot project, we focus on a new approach. Our members enjoy significant advantages over buying by themselves.“

All ordered trucks were configured according to the customers’ detail. In special webinars and video conferencing, ELVIS members could indicate their preferences regarding the equipment. The result was a wide range from short to long-distance transport vehicles.

Under this new cooperation, the company has negotiation and purchasing authority for its members. Jochen Eschborn can imagine to act according to this principle also in future projects. „This is quite an interesting option that gives us plenty of opportunities. For example, in the trailer procurement or purchasing of forklifts, this model is feasible,“ he emphasises.

The ELVIS AG (European charge cooperative of international freight forwarders) is Europe’s largest transport network and – with more than 150 partners with 140 locations in Germany and 72 locations in Europe – an international full truck load network. Founded in 2006 ELVIS AG has a fleet of more than 14,000 trucks moving around 6.5 million tonnes of cargo per month.

In addition to the Full Load Network and the Volume Load Network, since 2014 there is also the Cool Load Network, a designated segment for cool transport. Moreover the part load system of ELVIS AG also contributes to the transportations.
