“Emerging markets“ boost development with TNT Express

TNT Express achieved considerable improvements in turnover and operating results in the year 2010

Preparing the spin-off from TNT Mail, TNT Express presented a largely independent annual report for 2010 at the start of this week. Specialising in global transport of highly urgent papers and freight consignments, the enterprise profited from the strong growth of business volumes in the „emerging markets“ in the reporting period. Particularly in China the motor ran full speed regarding national as well as international consignments. Also Brazil made great progress.

TNT Express generated sales revenues of EUR 7.05 billion in 2010, and thus exceeded last year’s figure by 13.6 per cent. The operating result rose from EUR 61 million in 2009 to EUR 180 million. For 2011 the management holds out the prospect of sales revenues between EUR 7.3 and 7.5 billion, with an operating result of EUR 400 to 420 million.
