Emirates about to premiere its Airbus A380 in Munich

Emirates Airline operates the Dubai – Munich route and return from 25 November daily with Airbus A380:

Emirates Airline is to operate the afternoon-flight from Munich to its hub in Dubai with Airbus A380 jets from 25 November 2011. The international airline of the United Arab Emirates is the first foreign airline to call Germany daily using the world’s largest passenger aircraft.

With 90 ordered jets Emirates is by far the largest A380 customer, and with currently 17 jets in its fleet also the world’s biggest operator. Our A380 investment creates at least 40,000 direct and indirect jobs in Germany“, says Volker Greiner, Emirates Vice President North & CentralEurope.

Emirates operates the A380 fleet from its international hub in Dubai on the strongly demanded routes to London-Heathrow, Paris, Toronto, Jeddah, Bangkok, Seoul, Sydney, Auckland, Beijing, Manchester, Hong Kong, New York (JFK), Shanghai and Johannesburg. From December Rome, and from January 2012 also Kuala Lumpur, will be served on a daily basis with the “flagship“.

Munich was introduced in the route network of the Arabian airline in 1999. Two daily nonstop-flight are currently on the schedule. Flight EK50 takes off in Munich at 14:25 and lands in Dubai at 23:15. From 25 November this route will be operated with the Airbus A380, replacing the previously used aircraft Boeing 777-300. On its daily evening flight ex Munich Emirates uses Airbus A340-300 jets.
