Emirates SkyCargo starts freight-only service to Australia

Boeing 777F of Emirates SkyCargo flies in a weekly frequency from Dubai via Singapore to Sydney in Australia

Emirates Airline’s cargo division is now connecting Australia to its global freighter network. A Boeing 777F providing 103 tons of air freight capacity, operated by Emirates SkyCargo, flew from Dubai to Sydney for the first time on 11 September. The machine is operated in a weekly frequency from Dubai via Singapore to Sydney. Flight EK9920 to Down Under will depart the United Arab Emirates every Sunday at 20:35 local time. The return service – EK 9921 – departs from Sydney, land in Hong Kong and then terminate in Dubai.

The new freight-only service increases the weekly air cargo capacity of Emirates SkyCargo to Australia to 1,370 tons. The freighter can also carry shipments on the main deck.

Emirates SkyCargo currently serves a global route network that spans more than 114 points in 67 countries, including 51 e-freight compliant locations. Emirates‘ over 150-strong fleet – including nine freighters – carried 1.8 million tonnes of cargo in the 2010-11 financial year. This resulted in a revenue at USD 2.4 billion.
