Euromax Terminal Rotterdam set a new record

Last week Hutchison Ports ECT Euromax set a new record on the CEM Triton of shipping line Evergreen. A berth productivity of more than 200 moves per hour allowed the CEM Triton to set sail within 24 hours. ECT used 7 cranes during the loading/unloading process.

Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam (ECT) invests continuously in improving its processes. Increasingly higher productions and the use of more and more cranes simultaneously on one ship are necessary to answer the scaling up in container shipping. ECT regularly uses 7 to 8 cranes on a vessel to realize the required productivity.

Leo Ruijs, CEO of ECT: ‘’This excellent result for the Euromax terminal and for ECT in general, is indicative of the good and intensive cooperation with our customers, essential to handle the ever larger ships.”

The Euromax Terminal Rotterdam is one of the most advanced and environment-friendly container terminals in the world. It has been especially designed for the fast, safe and efficient handling of the very largest container ships. The depth along the quay is 16.65 metres; as the size of container vessels increases, the port basin can be further deepened to 19.60 metres
