Ewals Cargo Care invests in 600 new Mega Huckepack XLS trailers

Ewals Cargo Care makes further investments in modern equipment to strengthen its position as provider of intermodal services

By the end of April 2014, the first series of an additional 600 Mega Huckepack XLS trailers will be added to the Ewals Cargo Care network. These new trailers, which were built by Krone and Schmitz are an addition to the 250 Mega Huckepack XLS trailers which entered service in 2013.

This TÜV certified equipment was developed and patented by Ewals Cargo Care in collaboration with partners between 2011 and 2013, and has got some distinct advantages:

-) an extra secure curtain which makes it a worthy alternative to a box trailer with regard to load safety and trailer security

-) the curtain can be forced inwards before loading; it ensures that the trailer will not exceed the legal width limits, regardless of the type of cargo.

-) the absence of loose parts such as side boards increases safety for loading personnel and the driver, and also speeds up the loading process.

With 1.600 employees in 12 countries, 3,000 trailers and 400 trucks Ewals Cargo Care arranges over 5,000 transports daily within Europe and further afield. Half of these are carried out using our intermodal Mega Huckepack fleet. The annual turnover of the fourth generation family company with headquarters in Tegelen (The Netherlands) is over EUR 500 million.
