Felbermayr group expands in its water engineering division

Takeover of business divisions of the insolvent Reinhold Meister group gives Felbermayr group new business opportunities

The expansion of the Felbermayr corporate group headquartered in Wels is being continued.  In March 2012 the company acquired the business divisions water engineering and colvert construction, as well as the segments construction of disposal sites, explosive ordnance clearance and investigation from the insolvent Reinhold Meister group based in Hengersberg, Deggendorf. Felbermayr is thus expanding its existing segment water engineering and gains hence access to new fields of activity. At the same time the Austrian subsidiary Reinhold Meister Austria GmbH was fully taken over.

With this takeover the Felbermayr corporate group wants to become a strong partner for European water engineering – not last due to the significant expansion of their fleet. The management sees future tasks e.g. in the implementation of complex water, earth and engineering projects in the sense of maintaining European waterway networks. Current operations range from Rees at the Dutch border to Sulina, Black Sea.

"We are glad about having ensure more than 230 jobs of the insolvent Reinhold Meister group“, Horst Felbermayr comments the takeover of the companies now acting under the names Reinhold Meister Wasserbau GmbH, HAGN Umwelttechnik GmbH, Müsing Wasserbau GmbH and Müsing Kampfmittelräumung GmbH. The companies are acting economically and operatively independent.

Felbermayr Holding has 54 locations in 14 European countries. In 2011 around 2,000 employees generated a non-consolidated net turnover of more than EUR EUR 361 million. the range of services covers special and heavy transportations, mobile crane and working platform rental as well as construction and civil engineering, and the special Felbermayr civil engineering.
