Felbermayr to establish new site in southern Germany

Felbermayr, the international transport, lifting technology and construction enterprise, concentrates the activities of its subsidiaries Wimmer Maschinentransporte and Hagn-Umwelttechnik in Sulzemoos/district of Dachau. The groundbreaking ceremony for the approximately 7,000 m² industrial object took place on October 29. By the end of May 2016, approximately 130 employees will start to work at the new location.

We are delighted to be able to implement this project together with the municipality of Sulzemoos,” says DI Horst Felbermayr, Managing Director of the family company based in Wels, Upper Austria. “On the one hand its strategic location about 30 kilometres northwest of Munich made the municipality of Sulzemoos the first choice, on the other hand it was also thanks to the good cooperation with the Mayor and representatives of the municipality.”

The plot of about 2.8 hectares is located in the industrial park directly connected to the A8. A two-story 1,000 m² office building and a warehouse with an attached workshop with 4,500 m² and 1.600 m² respectively, will be built there in the first construction stage until May. A 100-tonnes indoor crane as well as a gas station for company vehicles and a car wash are also part of the infrastructure of the new Felbermayr site.

The object will accommodate the highly expansionary Felbermayr subsidiaries Wimmer Maschinentransporte and Hagn Umwelttechnik. Fort both companies – Wimmer, specializing in special transport and assembly of highly complex industrial equipment, as well as Hagn, specialising in water- and landfill construction – synergies such as a shared use of the fuel station and of the office infrastructure will result from the merger.

With 71 sites in 17 countries, the Felbermayr Holding GmbH based in Wels/Upper Austria is represented throughout Europe. The group’s about 2,800 employees generated a consolidated net turnover of about EUR 545 million in 2014. The enterprise specialises in the fields of special transport, mobile crane and working platform hire, heavy lift handling and civil engineering.
