Fercam AG opens new office in Serbia

The new company of Fercam in Serbia, based in Belgrade, is managed by the Serbian logistician Marko Kambic. Together with currently three Serbian employees, and two more before the end of this year, is mainly in charge of pan-European FTL and LTL transports.

Fercam Belgrade will initially focus on road transport, which is required by the intensive trade exchange between Italy and Serbia, and on the supply of European markets with goods manufactured in Serbia. These are primarily from the textile, automotive and household appliances industries. Fercam Belgrade takes also care of all customs formalities with specialised staff.

Hansjörg Faller, responsible for Freight Management FTL (Full Truck Load) and for the Serbian companies of the international logistics service provider Fercam, is very confident about the growth potential of the new company: “We serve a large number of manufacturing companies across Europe, who appreciate our customer friendliness and local presence. Because many production sites have been moved to Serbia, we want to offer them reliable transport services in this country, too, with local employees and using our own fleet, as well as those from third-country companies from Eastern Europe. We currently offer traditional goods transports and transports of refrigerated goods on the road, but in the medium term the combination of road/rail transport will also be considered. ”

Due to its geographically favorable location in the center of the Balkan peninsula, Serbia plays an increasingly important role as a gateway to the markets in Montenegro, Macedonia, Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the European markets in Germany and the UK also counting among the heavily used traffic relations. The free trade agreement between Belgrade and Moscow has positively influenced the exchange of goods between these two countries.

Fercam AG, headquartered in Bolzano, South Tyrol, is one of the leading transport and logistics companies in Italy with its approximately 3,350 own cargo units and more than 1,200,000 m² of warehouse space. The company’s services include international full-load traffic by road and rail as well as global sea and air freight transports, national general cargo services and numerous logistics services.

Fercam has 63 branches in Italy and 22 locations in Europe. In addition to their Turkish company in Istanbul and a location in Izmir, there are two more companies in Morocco and Tunisia, North Africa. The company currently has about 1,900 employees and more than 3,000 external employees, and achieved sales of nearly EUR 700 million in 2016.
