Five new trains with Kombiverkehr and ICA between Neuss and Vienna
Boom in Austria traffic bring Kombiverkehr KG and Intercontainer Austria to enhance their services effective 7 March
In response to rapidly growing customer demands the Frankfurt-based Kombiverkehr KG in cooperation with Intercontainer Austria start five new trains per week and direction between Neuss and Vienna from 7 March 2011. “We doubled our transport capacity between Austria and Germany within less than one year", says Robert Breuhahn, managing director of the European market leader for shifting transport from road to rail. „Whereas Kombiverkehr operated 13 weekly trains between Germany and Austria in April 2010, it will be 26 trains from 7 March,” he adds. Neuss-Hessentor has evolved into the combined transport terminal with the highest departure frequency in traffic with Austria. From there each week 16 direct rail services start carrying container consignments, swap bodies and semi trailers to Wels or Vienna. Also wagon groups for Budapest are integrated into these transports. Further points of departure of the direct rail services to destinations in Austria are Duisburg and Ludwigshafen in Germany. „The new departures ex Neuss make traffic with Austria more flexible for our customers", says Breuhahn. With the doubled departures to Vienna two trains start each day Monday to Friday, the last train is operated Saturday night. “We have one train, for which load units can be delivered until 7 pm. and one train, for which boxes are accepted until 4 am." The load units can be collected or further forwarded the next day or two days after departure in Vienna at 6 am. or 10 am. Breuhahn: „With these dates our customers are more than competitive compared to road transport. Combined services on weekends are faster than pure road transport, because consignments collected on Friday afternoon are fed into distribution in Vienna on Monday morning already.“ Quelle: LogEastics |
