Freilassing: 90th jubilee of Nieten Internationale Spedition

Nieten Internationale Spedition has been on the way globally for 90 years – and there are still enough promising future perspectives

In 2014 Nieten Internationale Spedition – Zollservice, Freilassing (Germany), celebrate their 90th anniversary. On this occasion, the employees of all companies of the Nieten group were invited along with their partners to a gala evening taking place at the Königliches Kurhaus in Bad Reichenhall. Klaus Lastovka, head of the company, welcomed around 150 guests from Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia.

The company history of Nieten reflect European history: After many ups and downs, the loss of the Sudeten German homeland, the reconstruction after the Second World War in the East Zone and later in Freilassing, after massive financial losses due to the EU accession of Austria in 1994 and the ten Central and Eastern European countries in 2004, today more than 120 staff is employed at 25 locations in five European countries.

„Despite the progressive abolition of customs barriers in Europe, the company still sees plenty of promising prospects to celebrate also the 100th anniversary in ten years“ predicts Klaus Lastovka.

With an extensive presence on the EU’s external border to Belarus and Ukraine, its own customs organisations in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Switzerland and Austria, as well as a dense network of cooperation partners, the Nieten company is a specialist in the field of European customs logistics. The main criterion of the activity is absolute neutrality in relation to the clients from the circle of direct customers or international freight forwarders.
