Further expansion at ports Ennshafen and Linz

Ports of Linz and Ennshafen are improving their trimodale logistics offering to support Upper Austria’s export business sector

The expansion of the logistics hubs and trimodal cargo traffic centres is proceeding well in Upper Austria. Upper Austrian Minister for Economic Affairs Viktor Sigl announced the finishing of the construction works at the new quay Kai 21 in Ennshafen at the trade fair "transport logistic 2011" in Munich. "So there are new spaces available for throughput operators and shippers", he said. C Capacities for 500 TEU are currently added to the container depot in Ennshafen.

The Hafen Linz group is implementing its expansion of warehousing area. The port hall that was built in the course of "Linz ’09 als Kulturhauptstadt" will be changed into a deep freeze warehouse until October 2011. It will then offer capacity for 5,900 pallets. Start of operation is scheduled for this November. "The integration of the deep freeze warehouse into our infrastructure results in a centre for temperature controlled logistics on the area of the Port of Linz", Viktor Sigl stated.
