Gebrüder Weiss enlarges warehousing area in Slovakia

Gebrüder Weiss opens two additional logistics buildings in Senec to celebrate 20 years of its Slovak branch

The Gebrüder Weiss country organisation in Slovakia, founded in 1993, is looking back on two decades of positive development. Owing to the success in this region they put into operation two additional logistics buildings with a total area of 4,600 m² at the existing logistics terminal in Senec, near Bratislava, in early September 2013.

Thus the location in Senec is now offering a total warehousing space of 13,000 m². About 9,000 m² thereof are reserved for warehousing and logistics activities; the remaining space is used for throughput and cross docking. “The logistics buildings with 7,000 additional pallet spaces ideally complement the existing site in Senec,” says Markus Jelleschitz, Country Manager at GW Slovakia. The investment volume for the expansion totals over EUR 2 million.

In addition to the own branch in Bratislava opened in 1993, the Austrian transport and logistics provider operates today 4 more sites in Slovakia. About 180 employees are operating a total covered warehousing area of 14.500 m² in the country. Moving about 450.000 consignments every year, they generate a turnover of around EUR 27 million.
