Gebrüder Weiss puts new emphasis on the Czech Republic

Gebrüder Weiss opens new terminal with integrated ADR warehouse near Prague; further company expansion in Brno to follow

Gebrüder Weiss has opened a new transhipment centre in Jeneč in the immediate vicinity of Prague. The terminal has direct access to major traffic arteries around the Czech capital. Total investments amount to EUR 15 million. The site, with 10,000 m² of transhipment and logistics facilities and 3,000 m² of office space, forms the basis for further development in the Czech Republic.

The branch features an ADR warehouse, which enables storage and handling of hazardous goods in accordance with the currently highest standards. Later this year, the investment in Jeneč near Prague will be followed by a further company expansion in the Moravian city of Brno.

At the new head office of its Czech country organisation, Gebrüder Weiss will offer the entire service portfolio, ranging from land transport and air and sea freight to individual logistics solutions.

Gebrüder Weiss has entered the Czech market in 1992. Today, the company has six own branch offices close to the country’s main business centres. Also in the recent past, new branch offices in Hradec Králové and Jablonec (both in Bohemia) were added to the network. More than 300 employees handled around one million shipments in 2012, achieving a turnover of EUR 57.5 million.
