Gefco makes expansion the major objective

Following a slight decline in turnover in 2012 Gefco is aiming at a peak position in major growth markets
 
The Gefco group has ambitious plans under their new majority owner Russian Railways. The company plans to enter the circle of leading providers of industrial logistics in major growth markets within the next five years. The measures aimed to this end are improving performance, optimise information systems, push developments in big geographic regions through promoting operating and commercial synergies or reorganising the group’s structure.
 
Gefco generated turnover of about EUR 3.6 billion in the 2012 financial year, meaning a slight decline on last year. Operating results amounted to EUR 109 million, thus accounting for three per cent of total turnover. Turnover from international major clients amounted to EUR 1.524 billion, which is 42 per cent of total results (in 2011: 38 per cent). In Central Asia, Middle and Eastern Europe, and the Middle East they generated 17 per cent growth. The company grew also significantly in Russia.
 
In their five core competencies overland, overseas, warehousing and a logistics solution using containers and handling systems, vehicle logistics as well as customs clearance and fiscal representation Gefco offers global solutions for all requirements of industrial logistics (national or international), procurement and distribution. The enterprise with headquarters in Paris has 11,200 employees at more than 300 locations and is currently expanding its activities in Central Asia, Middle and Eastern Europe, the Near East, Eastern Asia and South America.
