Gefco Austria investing into its locations and staff

Boosting the brand as full range-logistics provider for industrial customers and expanding the business volume are the goals for 2015

In order to strengthen the business, especially with big industrial customers in Upper and Lower Austria, Gefco Austria is expanding its locations in St. Valentin, Lower Austria and in Vienna. New staff is recruited and big investments are made into IT infrastructure. „Good and motivated employees are the most important factor for our business. It is important for us to be perceived as an attractive employer in Austria“, CEO Peter Vanek said yesterday at a press conference in Vienna.

Gefco Austria achieved a turnover of EUR 33 million (+ 13%) in 2014. The company generated approximately one third of it with customers from the automotive sector, and two-thirds with industrial customers. For the current year the management board expects a somewhat weaker growth due to the industry.

In Vienna, Gefco has its Austrian headquarters as well as the headquarters for the CEBAME region (Central Europe, Balkans, Middle East). The region covering 13 nations is headed by Pierre-Jean Lorrain and reported a turnover of EUR 746 million in 2014. This is about 20 per cent of global revenues of the Gefco Group.

Gefco Austria was founded in 2004 and has since developed into one of the largest automotive logistics experts in the domestic market. The specialist in the field of industrial logistics has 70 employees in Austria, in five offices (Vienna, Spillern, St. Valentin, Schwertberg and Zettling). The major customers include Agrana, Case New Holland, Dynacast, Fiat, General Motors (GM) , Georg Fischer Automotive, Knauf Insulation KTM, MAGNA, PSA Peugeot Citroen, REHAU, voestalpine and VW.

Gefco is the European leader in automotive logistics and covers all logistic areas from global procurement of production parts to distribution of finished vehicles. As a full-range logistics provider GEFCO also offers firsthand logistics. Tailor-made multi-modal solutions, inbound, sequencing, empty returns, storage, handling and control are included in the portfolio.
