Gefco is now owner of 70 per cent of Gruppo Mercurio

Integration of the Italian vehicle logistician Gruppo Mercurio into Gefco’s network is completed

Following the declaration of intent on 5 April 2011 and the agreement of the competent competitive authorities on 9 May 2011, the Gefco group has completed the acquisition of 70 per cent of the shares of Gruppo Mercurio. In Italy and on international level the purchased company counts among the leading suppliers in the segment transport and distribution of vehicles. It enables Gefco to expand the vehicle distribution segment and enhance the portfolio of customers and international activities.

With its service concepts in the fields Logistics, GefBoxSystem, Overseas, Overland, vehicle distribution, fiscal representation and customs handling, Gefco offers full range solutions for all requirements of national and international industrial logistics in the segments procurement and distribution. The enterprise has a worldwide staff of 9,400 persons in more than 400 locations and generated a turnover of EUR 3.4 billion in 2010. The expansion of international business activity is focused on the regions Central Asia, Middle and Eastern Europe, Near East, Eastern Asia and South America.
