Gefco Slovakia forwards PSA components to South America
Gefco Slovakia’s logistics platform in Trnava provides supply chain to South America for the customer PSA Peugeot Citroën
Since recently Gefco Slovakia is in charge of the international logistics platform on behalf of PSA Peugeot Citroën in Trnava near Bratislava. This ‘operation’ is aimed to increase the efficiency of transport of components between Europe and the production centres of the car manufacturer in South America.
The Slovakian company of Gefco transports the vehicle components of the suppliers of PSA Peugeot Citroën. They are then forwarded to Gefco’s warehouse in Trnava, loaded to containers and transported to the ports of Hamburg and Bremerhaven, from where the goods are sent to Brazil and Argentina on the seaway once weekly.
“The activities of the logistics platform are in the best hands with us. We offer economically efficient solutions to reduce transport costs. We expect to handle 174 export containers until the end of this year, and about 1,480 units in 2013“, says Jana Bacikova, manager overseas with Gefco Slovakia.
