Enhanced delivery options involving recipients with parcel service provider GLS Germany

As of now the parcel service provider GLS Germany offers an range of options for delivery to private recipients. The recipient of the parcel is informed via e-mail about day and time of delivery in advance. The time window is exact on three hours. The FlexDelivery service involves recipients in the supply chain from the beginning through early information. No additional costs arise for senders, delivery options are covered by the national parcel product Business-Parcel.

If the receipient will not be at home on the day GLS proposes, he can simply chose another delivery date within a period of nine days via the website, or select the option for delivery to a PaketShop or to another address in Germany. The recipient may as well cancel the delivery or collect the parcel from the depot personally. The FlexDelivery service will also be available as smartphone app. “The new service enables online shops to deliver reliably and flexibly. At the same time it supports our drivers, as failed delivery trials can be avoided“, resumes Klaus Conrad, Managing Director GLS Germany.
