WienCont and Vienna Airport exchange apprentices

Vienna’s airport and container terminal operator WienCont cooperate in youth training

From September the WienCont company and the airport of Vienna will launch an exchange program for apprentices for the first time. Apprentices will gain insight to the other company for a period of three months. As to WienCont this means the future forwarding experts will be acting in the air freight segment for three months. If this cross-company project is successful, the cooperation might be extended to a longer period. “It is an exemplary project with a promising future“, says Julian Jäger, CEO of the airport. The two enterprises expect this new approach to make training places more attractive, which is beneficial for the apprentices as well as for the companies.

WienCont operates the container terminals of the Port of Vienna, which are affiliated to Wien Holding. Their customers include such forwarding and shipping companies as China Shipping, Hapag Lloyd, Hanjin Shipping or Hyundai Merchant Marine. Moreover WienCont offers also the following services: trade, leasing, storage and repair of containers.
