Gottschligg: starting signal for EUR grid shipping cases in India

After introduction of standard EUR grid shipping cases in India Gottschligg about to enter Russian market

The importation of EUR exchange pallets (grid shipping cases) is becoming an intercontinental business with W. Gottschligg GmbH. Gottschligg has recently been awarded certification from the Austrian Railways ÖBB enabling the manufacture of standardised grid shipping cases (EUR exchange cases constructed in accordance with UIC Standard 435.3) at a production site in India. “This certification means our tomers are able to have components produced in India shipped to Europe in brand new exchangeable EUR grid shipping cases, thus avoiding the considerable expense involved in the purchase and disposal of non-reusable packaging“, says Andrea Michelfeit, managing partner, in the interview with the Austrian transport magazine Österreichische Verkehrszeitung.

The idea was born by one of the company’s trendsetting customers from the agricultural engineering industry. Andrea Michelfeit, “Of course, it was clear to all concerned that there was a long way to go in ensuring the quality standards our company is known for would be adhered to with absolute reliability. This is what we have now succeeded in doing by cooperating with Austrian logistics partners in India”.

Established in 1974, the family enterprise based in Brunn am Gebirge produces and sells pallets and load carriers made from wood, metal and plastic. Gottschligg offers also storage and distribution services. Their customers include many globally operating companies from different industries, as well as premium producers from the automobile and vehicle industry and their suppliers. Gottschligg had been the first company in 1978 to be awarded certification by the ÖBB to import EUR wooden pallets.
