Growing utilisation rate of GLS ParcelShops in Austria

Private persons and occasional business shippers make stronger use of ParcelShop network of GLS Austria
 
An increasing number of private persons and business shippers are using the ParcelShop network of GLS Austria. “We register steady growth in parcel volumes from this segment entering our system“, says Klaus Schädle, Managing Director Europe South, GLS. This is also related to the organic expansion of the network. In the past year alone the number of GLS ParcelShops in Austria has risen by 50.
 
Another reason for the increasing parcel volumes is defined in an analysis: About one third of parcels shipped via GLS ParcelShops is destined to other countries in Europe – mainly to Germany, Italy and Great Britain. “The European-wide network of GLS convinced also private persons“, comments Klaus Schädle. “Everybody can ship to 24 European countries through our ParcelShops.“
 
About 600 GLS ParcelShops are currently available throughout Austria, where parcels can be collected from private persons and companies with occasional shipments, “this alternative to ordinary post shipping is used more and more“, states GLS Austria in a press release.
