GST Stadler received “klima:aktiv“ award

Stadler Green Carrier Concept“ shifts transportations from the road to rail andmakes a contribution to climate protection

The “Stadler Green Carrier Concept“, which was launched last year, has proven as a good measure for climate protection. Stadler Güterverkehrs GmbH based in Peuerbach, Upper Austria, has recently joined the circle of “klima:aktiv“ partners. The award was presented by Environmental Minister Nikolaus Berlakovich in Linz.

According to the company the “Stadler Green Carrier Concept“ is another step towards energy independence. European-wide shift of road transport to railway has saved about 1.3 million litres of diesel last year, and around 100 tons of CO2.

GST Stadler has 1,050 trucks and 1,300 trailers, which makes it a top-3 provider of full- and less than full load transport on the road in Austria. Established in 1965 the family enterprise has about 1,450 employees at locations in Austria, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Romania, the Czech Republic and Poland.
